Hera Recording Privacy: Local Capture, App Sync, and Your Controls

Voice recordings can contain personal or confidential information. A useful privacy decision starts with a clear picture of the workflow: Hera captures audio on the device first. After you sync a recording to the Hera app, transcription and AI features can process it there. Local capture should not be confused with end-to-end on-device AI processing.

Where the recording goes

The recorder stores captured audio locally until it is synced. The Hera app is the place to review recordings, transcripts, and available controls. The current Privacy & Security page explains the product experience; the Privacy Policy explains how Hera handles personal information, including retention and privacy rights.

Questions to settle before a sensitive meeting

  • Permission: Are participants aware of the recording, and have you obtained any consent required by local rules or your organization?
  • Access: Which account and connected devices can access the recording after sync?
  • Sharing: Who should receive the audio, transcript, or summary? Review AI output before forwarding it.
  • Retention: What deletion and retention rules apply to your use case? Check the published policy and your organization's own requirements.

If your organization needs a specific security architecture, contract term, or deployment arrangement, ask Hera to confirm it in writing before adopting the product for that workflow. Do not assume that local recording alone guarantees a particular compliance outcome.
