How Hera Records Meetings and Creates Transcripts

Good meeting notes start with an accurate record of what was said. Hera separates that first step from what happens later in the app: the recorder captures audio locally, and you sync the recording to the Hera app to use transcription and AI features.

What Hera can do while offline

Hera can capture audio to its local storage without a continuous phone or network connection. This is useful when a meeting room has unreliable connectivity or you want to keep your phone free during the conversation. Check the device's recording state before you begin, and obtain the consent required where you are.

What happens after recording

Reconnect through the Hera app and sync the recording. The app then provides the path to a transcript, summary, and other available AI tools. Recording offline does not mean the device performs speech recognition or content analysis offline. Allow time for the sync and processing steps before you expect meeting notes to be ready.

A practical meeting workflow

  1. Before: Confirm the recording mode, available storage, and the permissions needed to record.
  2. During: Keep Hera in a position that can capture the speakers you need. Check that recording has started.
  3. After: Sync in the Hera app, review the transcript against the source audio, and check names, decisions, and action items before you share them.

Automatic transcription can miss words in noisy rooms, overlapping speech, or specialist terminology. For a consequential decision, return to the source recording rather than relying on a summary alone.
